カルロス・ベガ（Carlos Vega, 1898-1966）は、アルゼンチンをはじめとする南米各地に伝わる民謡や舞踊の収集・体系化という先駆的な仕事を成したことで知られ、「アルゼンチン音楽学の開祖」と称されるとともに、近代科学としての民俗学の理論・方法論の立役者ともなった人物である。ベガの民謡・舞踊研究は、アルゼンチンおよびラテンアメリカ諸国の音楽学者・民俗学者らに多大な影響を及ぼしたばかりでなく、アルゼンチンの一般の人々の間にも流布して、通念としての「アルゼンチン文化」像の構築というべき働きをも成したと言える。 (さらに…)
