2014年6月に「イスラーム国」の「建国」が宣言されてから、1年以上が経った。この間、アメリカ人やイギリス人、日本人などの人質が殺害され、その映像が公開されて世界中に衝撃を与えたが、ビデオに映った殺害の実行犯、通称「ジハーディー・ジョン」がロンドン出身の元ラッパーL Jinnyではないかとされた報道（後に別の男であることが判明したが）を契機として、「ジハーディー・ラップ」などと総称される「イスラーム主義」的な要素を含んだヒップホップに焦点を当てたメディア報道が、昨年頃から増えてきている。 (さらに…)

モッシュが発生する時、何が起きているのか？

ロックのライブにおいて、オーディエンスが密集地帯で押し合い、フロアで自由に暴れ、リズムに合わせて飛び跳ねるといった光景がしばしば見られる。そのような行為は「モッシュ」という名前で呼ばれ、一般化している。それは元々1980年前後の英米圏のパンクシーンに始まりを持つ文化であり、90年代を通して日本を含めた世界の各地、特に英米圏のロック文化の影響を受けた地域、コミュニティに波及したものである。 (さらに…)

ファン活動による「ヴィジュアル系」の形成――「やおい」作品の受容から

「ヴィジュアル系」とマンガ・アニメ等の「オタク向け」コンテンツとの親和性は、同音楽ジャンルの特性といえないか。これの成立には、ミュージシャン達による世界観の提示や2000年代以降のアニメ作品とのタイアップだけでなく、ファン達の活動の共通性も無関係ではない。大槻ケンヂは同ジャンルファンの一つの主流を、男性ミュージシャン達の関係を同性愛に見立てる「やおいファン」と語っている。例えばジャニーズなどのやおい作品に対する隠匿性とは異なる傾向であり、女性層の多い実在人物ファンコミュニティとしても特異である。 (さらに…)

本報告は、フランスの社会学者ピエール・ブルデューの界理論を使いながら、日本の商業音楽の界をマッピングすることを試みる。はじめに、ブルデューの界理論の要約を提示し、次にオリコン株式会社のCD売上げデータを元にサンプリングしたアーティストの位置空間についてのマッピングを行う。

界という概念は、ブルデューにおいて、ハビトゥス、資本、実践などの著名な概念と並ぶ中心的な概念である(『ディスタンクシオン』（1979=1991）『芸術の規則』(1992=1996))。 (さらに…)

本発表は、1977年4月8日から10日にかけて東京晴海ドームで行なわれた大型コンサート「ローリング•ココナッツ•レヴュー•ジャパン」の開催経緯と活字媒体での語られ方を検討し、特に、このコンサートに向けられた批判の意味を考察する。

もともとこのコンサートは、環境保護団体「グリーンピース」のメンバーらが反捕鯨運動の一貫として日本に持ち込んだ企画であった。海洋哺乳類の保護は、1970年代半ばの北米における社会運動の一つの潮流を形成していた。 (さらに…)
